As everyone now knows, Takuto is dead and that puts me out of the game. I had a lot of fun here for what... three-ish years, but it's time for me to say goodbye. And if the timing seems really strange for this message (because I've been idling out since February), it's because last night my computer itself idled out on me after seven years together. Ironic, I know.

Since I'm in Europe but always a mac girl, I'll be putting off my new investment until I return home to America in six weeks... which means this is my last post in Soul Campaign. I won't be slowly finishing up threads and typing up loose ends as I had hoped to be. I'll check in to plurk every now and then, but for me, this is it. Thank you to everyone who played with me and made this a great game--the only game I ever called home. Good luck in the finish!

If that wasn't way too much information in one sentence for you, I'm officially impressed. As it so happens, Sai is from the anime about ninjas, Naruto. He's coming from just after Danzo's death (and subsequently, the removal of his curse seal preventing him from talking about Danzo or Root) and he's going to be a little lost at first.

Sai's a meister, and his ability is Soul Animate, and I'm really looking forward to getting him out there and fighting the good fight. :x

Regardless, hello, Soul Campaign! My name is Snow, and I once had the pleasure of playing here back when the game was on LJ. After talking to one of your lovely players about how the game was gearing up for end game, I decided that I'd like to see the game out the same way that I saw the game in.

For right now, however, I'm bringing in someone I didn't play way back when -- Korra, from the Legend of Korra. She's a meister with Soul Adrenaline, is from s1 (until I canon review s2 ohoho), and is incredibly confused about what the hell is going on. She could really use a buddy or two in these trying times.

So, the threat of the Kishin Adachi has been neutralized. Matsue will begin to rebuild and some of the population in the city has taken this as a sign that the war is moving forward.

The victory did not come without a cost, however. Katsuragi Yako and Tsunashi Takuto lost their lives during the attack on Adachi. However, upon examining their bodies, Shibusen finds something...odd. Odd, and very troubling...

When they're more certain of what's going on, they'll consult with a few guests before making the information known.

In addition to that, the player plot involving Genesis will be kicking off. This is meant as a sort of background plot which will come to a head in July.

It's that time of month again!

Volunteers will be chosen and assigned a newcomer to give them a full tour (or as much as they want)! Then volunteers will be chosen to deal with working the Soul Perception area.

Now onto how this is going to go-

This is how it works OOCly:

You sign up and we ping you!

As to how it works ICly:

Holy crap what is this room. New arrivals will land in the Kishin Chamber as a group. They will be confused, afraid, and possibly hostile, but volunteers willing to take up the task will be posted in the chamber to greet them after watching Spirit's video transmission.
Show them around! Once their questions are answered, newcomers are directed to Death City proper, where a guide will show them around and ultimately lead them to Casualty Communal for their communicators, SEES starter baskets, apartment keys, and a scan of their souls to determine whether they are a Meister or Weapon via machinery or Soul Perception.
Mingle! Last but not least, there will be a section for open interaction between guides, newcomers, and all other interested parties for when the tour is complete.

There are a few requirements when it comes to guiding:

Must bear some loyalty to Shibusen. Shibusen will be contacting guides personally (such interaction is handwaved), trusting them to give all newcomers the information they need to make their time here a little easier.
Availability. Players of guides must be available to thread starting this week into the next at the very least.
Somewhat knowledgeable. Characters who at least have a solid understanding of what is going on and can give new arrivals a good start into living in Death City are preferred. So long as they know about the war, meister/weapon system, and how to get to important and/or popular locations, then that should be fine.

I'm sure it is not really much of a surprise, but I will be leaving Soul Campaign and stepping down from the modship. I find it almost impossible to play Cloud after the drop of his partner, given that almost four years ago, Ozzy and I joined together. This has been the longest running game that I've been in, and it's sad to go so close to the end.

I wish you all well, and thanks for all the good times. Cloud will be leaving nothing behind and the cat, Jenova, will have mysteriously disappeared with him.

Hey, Soul Campaigners!

Now that you've got some training with the Yellow Fog under your belts, it's almost time do deal with the real thing.

On September 11th (day change of May 20th) a mirror connection will be set up and everyone will be headed for a town in Japan known as Matsue.

What was once a bustling town has now become a ghost town after Adachi settled there and turned it into his personal playground for a couple of days.

Adachi himself has taken up residence in the Adachi Art Museum (for what should be pretty obvious reasons), but getting there won't be easy.

There is the Yellow Fog, first of all, becoming especially thick the closer you get to the museum. The effects of the Yellow Fog is detailed in a previous post. The difference this time is that, with Adachi so close, rejecting your Shadow will cause it to become a large, rampaging monster, so bear that in mind.

Secondly, there will be also be Reapers hanging around the place. And by hanging around, what I really mean is that they will stalk characters in the fog. Their arrival is heralded by sound of rattling chains. They are incredibly powerful and most likely to sneak up on those engaged in battle.

There is also a high concentration of Madness in the city, coming from the Kishin Adachi.

The Madness has had another effect on the city which is to drive citizens to killing each other and eating the souls of innocents turning them into Kishin Eggs. So there will be Kishin Eggs throughout the city in addition to everything else.

Fun stuff.

There will be a separate thread for those who want to challenge the Kishin but it should be noted that only Three Star Meister/Deathscythe partners will stand any real chance at doing damage to the Kishin. So like a witch encounter, really.

Rewards:
► 7 Meister points / souls (for Meisters and Weapons, respectively.)
► 950D$ per person
► Weapons may choose not to eat their souls, but they cannot be traded amongst each other.
► Sign ups for the missions go here. In order for your characters to receive the rewards, you must at least provide a summary of what happened. If you don't have a planned partner just put N/A.

In all seriousness, though, I'm glad to be back! For anyone who doesn't know me, I'm Huudel and I'm bringing back Raidou Kuzunoha from Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner. He's going to land smack in the middle of the fog tunnel because he's just lucky like that, so expect to see Shadow Raidou around as soon as I get my bearings.

Salutations, Soul Campaigners!

So, as of September 7th ICly, the city has been notified about the situation with a previous Guest by the name of Adachi by Kanji Tasumi and Naoto Shirogane via a network post.

They also mention something about training.

Here's more information about that: for two IC days (September 8th to 9th Icly, which is May 9th to 15th) a section of a collapse underground tunnel will be available for those who want to try dealing with the effects of the fog to train and try dealing with their shadows.

Hey guys, Mags here. This is something that over the years that I've been in this game that I never thought that I'd actually end up doing, but this last month as pretty much proven to me that I don't really have enough of a drive for this game anymore to give it the attention that it deserves, so I'm going to go ahead and drop Chika, and therefore the game.

Soul Campaign was my home game for quite a while, and I'm going to miss it and all of you. This is the game that I've been in for the second longest amount of time, and some of my best RP memories are here. This post doesn't really do my feelings for the game and how upset I am about leaving this close to the end of the game justice, but at this point it's really clear that this is what I need to do.

Hopefully I'll see the rest of you around, and I hope everything here stays just as fun for all of you.

It's that time again~ LET'S GET READY FOR MORNING TRAINING! It will taking place on the day change of September 7thth, which will hopefully be May 6th OOCly! Extra note: Date is tentative as plot may necessitate it moving. I'll be getting feedback from the mods soon on if it's still cool. We have the A-OK.

Morning training happens everyday at the park from 6-9am, but is handwaved except for once a month, where a log goes up to play out shenanigans. It's set up and coordinated by Neji and Lee in the mornings at the moment, and run by a host of teachers that instruct guests in the varying methods of kicking ass. There's also free food.

Teaching at morning training is a paid position, paying 10 deathdollars an hour, and new instructors are always welcome. This month, like the months before it may also feature a novelty class. A one-off class run by a guest that has anything unique guidance or instruction to impart. Any area can have more than one teacher, so if your character is looking for a job then this could be a thing for them to try!

There is nothing scheduled for this month's novelty class yet, so if your character would like to volunteer their wisdom or special ~skill~ feel free to let us know!

Teachers/Overseers are needed for the following classes: Currently all positions filled, but people are still able to sign up for helping areas if they wish!

And of course, if your character would like to offer their services as a part-time teacher in the mornings for any section of training, hit up the teachers thread to bang out some quick deets. Don't worry if a section already has a teacher, because one instructor can't get to everyone, so multiples are welcome~ Alternatively, let us know if your character has stepped down from teaching for any reason!

Hey, Soul Campaigners! First: yes, this mod post is early this month. Because this month's plot is going to kick start early so we wanted to make sure you'll all have ample time to prepare.

1: Apps Closing in May for New Characters

Just a reminder that May is the last month where we'll be accepting new characters. Just a quick reminder that there are two app cycles in May, one on the 10th and another on the 25th.

2: Trouble in Japan

There are two parts to May's plot. First, as you've no doubt seen in day change news reports there have been...problems in Japan. That part of the endgame plot will come to a head in May, beginning with a post from a player character followed by a brief training arc, and the first major boss fight leading up to endgame.

More information will be made available later on in the week.

3: Arson in Death City

Towards the end of May there will be some strange happenings going on. Illegal strange happenings. The kind involving fire. This will be more of a background plot that will be further developed in the future. So stay tuned for that!
