ATTENTION
Citizens of Death City, I present to you--

THE SHIBUSEN COMMUICATOR!
Using the SC (do you see what I did there) is fairly simple. It operates much like a normal cellular phone (and can even be used as one) with a few special add ons. It also has the extra benefit of doubling as a pocket mirror for all those beauty conscious ladies out there.
The most obvious part is the keyboard. It functions like any regular keyboard and will allow you to easily send messages to other DEMISE users in a flash!
The SOS button is also rather obvious. Red for danger! Don't press this unless you really are in danger, because otherwise you'll have some pretty annoyed Shibusen faculty members knocking on your door. I know it might be tempting, but we ask that you please attempt to restrain yourself.
The yellow button is the GPS function. Clicking this will pull up a map of Death City and allow you to easily find your way around. When out on a job for Shibusen, you can even program in maps of other places, so you don't get lost when searching for kishin eggs.
The green button is the power button. Although it's not necessary to turn the GPS off, doing so is highly advised. If you don't who knows what will show up on the DEMISE network!
The most important addition to the SC is the Shibusen button. Clicking that will connect you directly to Shinigami's mirror, where someone will always be standing by to answer any and all questions you may have.
The SC should be indestructible, but if you find something broken, feel free to contact Dr. Stein! He will be able to replace it for you... for a fee.
The main reason for making the shift to using a mirror is because this is how Shibusen communicates. It's more efficient to use magic, because enemies of Shibusen can't tap into the system, nor can they use that particular brand of magic--it's limited to technicians only. That said, the DEMISE network isn't fool proof, and there might be times when it is compromised. Try not to let any important information out. However, the communication line between your SC and Shinigami's mirror is completely safe, so don't be afraid to contact Shibusen.
We hope you find the SC easy to use and even more efficient than before!
Any complaints may be taken up with Dr. Stein at your own risk. Shibusen is not liable for any repercussions due to making the good doctor upset.

(They CAN connect to the internet, btw, since that's what DEMISE basically is. I'll try and write up a more comprehensive FAQ once more people ask questions and I can come up with the information people need to know.)

(Although granted, if they send Spirit, it's more likely to end in booze and women...)

If one wanted to use it to store information, they could do so, correct? AT the same time, could the information stored in the communicator be transferred to a different location (ie: a computer/laptop)?
Also, under what circumstances could this communicator hypotheically be broken? Like just REALLY extreme conditions? I was just wondering.
You know.
For science.
:)
A-Ah! I also wanted to know if it was alright for Shouichi to...kind of...use that ability of his to know how it works? Or do you have to wait until you have a pair up? I'M SORRY FOR ASKING SO MANY QUESTIONS @______@

We're actually going to include answers to these questions (and more!) in a FAQ thread for the communicator alone. Thank you for your curiosity, and we'll be sure to satisfy it ASAP! :)
