MANDATORY READ: PLOT EVENT
The mods would like to request the attention of everyone for this very important post concerning the current plot.
First and foremost we would like to talk to all our new arrivals. Welcome all of you, especially those who are completely new to the game. We're sure you must be quite confused about what is currently going on so we'll be giving you a quick synopsis of everything that has happened thus far, exactly where your characters should be, and how they can get in on the current plot smoothly; however, we highly encourage everyone else to read this as well in case they have forgotten some things or are confused about some details.
A while back a man by the name of Tohru Adachi (Persona 4) began to murder and eat the souls of some characters. In doing so he became a Kishin and has then been hiding out in the sewers, and killing anyone who has attempted to go after him.
A couple days ago an unsettling fog fell over Death City, one that grew thicker by the hour, and eventually made visibility next to nothing, and gained a strange yellow hue. It was a fog that gave anyone who stepped out in it great physical and emotional fatigue, and the day of your arrival would allow the Shadows of people to emerge. While some characters arrived on the day where Shadows were rampant, we ask that all new comers not attempt to do a Shadow plot since the new day has arrived. Do not worry, you will still have plenty of opportunity to hop on board upcoming plots.
The fog has been replaced with a downpour now, which is to suggest things are by no means over yet. That is a very, very brief synopsis of what has been going on with the current plot. Please if you have any questions whatsoever feel free to ask them here.
For all new arrivals please assume that you have been escorted to the Casualty Communal. Absolutely no one is allowed to be at Shibusen at this moment. Trust us. You don't want to be there.
With that out of the way, onto some of what will be upcoming.
There will soon be a post by Death the Kid who will be ICly explaining what Shibusen has been doing, and what is currently going on.
Shibusen has been very aware of what has been going on with Adachi, but have been restricted in their movements due to his Meister ability which allows him to conceal his soul. Furthermore the barrier that once protected the city from Witch attack has been gone ever since the death of the previous Shinigami-sama. While potent, Adachi is nowhere near as big a threat as the Witches and they have been dreading a possible attack from them for ages. Thus most of Shibusen's staff has been out trying to recruit help from other Death Scythes and skilled Meisters and Weapons.
Unfortunately, as some of you may recall a post by Lavi ages ago where he witnessed the death of two Death Scythes. Seems it wasn't just the two of them. The Shibusen staff has looked worldwide and come to the devastating conclusion that the people of Death City are now the only ones alive to fight against the Witches.
It's obvious that the Witches and their minions were behind this, and more information was needed. The problem was that leaving Death City defenseless for any longer, especially after the sandstorm was a bad idea and they knew it, so they came up with a plan to keep the Witches at bay long enough for them to gather information.
That plan was using Adachi. One that would assure that Witches did not attack, ultimately get rid of him, and create a new barrier.
The plan was as follows: instate Madness Wave amplifiers on the perimeters of the sewer. This would essentially give Adachi some power---but at the same time cause him to grow, thus fishing him out of the sewers, and driving him to the brinks of insanity where he could no longer think or really control his actions anymore. That gigantic Shadow you have sometimes seen? Those earthquakes?
Yea.
The storms, fog, and strange energy have all been a result of Adachi slowly growing and with this unexpected and unknown new energy the Witches have been successfully kept away.
So now it's up to all of you to get rid of the menace of Adachi once and for all. This is going to be a plot that will require tons of people, especially partnered people. There will be about three important phases, each which will be announced as they come.
→ 1. Kid's announcement
Kid will soon be giving an announcement which will give some of this information as well as a plan of action against Adachi. There will be another OOC post for questions in case anyone is confused.
→ 2. Preparations
There will be a period of time given in which people will be allowed to do very brief amounts of training and find partners--even if only temporary. Given the situation--high levels of energy and the sheer urgency of needing a partner to properly fight, resonation will be a lot easier. Have you had a partner in mind, but due to the nature of the characters they'd have trouble resonating? Now is the opportunity to get them to work.
→ 3. The Actual Battle
More specific information will come on this later, and will occur on the third day. As with the previous two days, these three will last about a week each.
Again, there will be more OOC posts as the plot progresses to keep anyone updated or provide further details---we don't want to give everything out right away---but if you have questions leave them here and we shall answer them as promptly as we can.

One question, stemming from munfail and my inability to research effectively - will new arrivals have been informed whether they are Meister or weapon?
