SEES Update and Information
Hey everyone, Amy here, player of both Souji Seta (
socialinking) and Oerba Dia Vanille (
lyingragnarok). I'm coming to you all with something that I hope will generate a lot of plot, and hopefully help more people with CR!
As some of you know, whether I've talked about it with you, or you've heard about it from one of Souji's posts, but the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, or SEES for short, is starting back up! Now, a few of you may have been "in" this group at one point or another because of Minato Arisato. Unfortunately he's not here anymore, which now places Souji in charge of the group, and we have decided to take a different route with it.
So if I could direct all of your attention to what is under the cut, I would really appreciate it!
Now, this outline is basically what I sent to the mods and everyone who wanted to see the idea once it was done, so I figured I'll let you guys read over what's going on, and we can go from there. Now, while the basic principle of SEES remains, which is to protect the people, the group is now going to be taking a different approach to that same ideal. There is the Detective Agency already in place to solve mysteries, so the Investigation Team is not needed for its primary purpose, and the Watch is in place to patrol the city, with most of the adults in this group already. But there is a group that is neglected right now, and that is the children; ages 5 to 18. Now, while most children and teenagers feel that they are fine and old enough to join the Watch, that is okay; we’re not going to try and detract from the Watch, or hinder its progress and recruitment of new guests within the city. But there are also teenagers and children that either cannot join the fight just yet, or would prefer to help out in other ways instead of joining in a war they feel they want no part of.
BASIC MISSION OF SEES
This is where SEES comes in. Basically the group would be a sort of “Youth Watch” without being connected to the Watch; to give the younger guests something to do, and a way to help out the war effort, while also giving the stability and slight militarized feel that people might need to experience before they move beyond the group and go to join the Watch full time. For an example of what we are looking to achieve, take a look at how the Boy Scouts of America are organized, with different activities to do, while still building the trust and bonds you will need to move on in your life; in this case, to move on and find a partner for a Meister/Weapon team, and then fully go on to do regular missions.
RESTRICTIONS AND REASONS
Now, if I've kept your attention on this so far, you're probably wondering "But wait! My character is XYZ years old or close to it, and they are more than capable of being in the Watch, and are used to fighting back home!" And what I'm going to say to that is "Yes, I know!" Because I do know; this group is not to belittle your character, or to say that they are not capable of adult decisions. I am not here to define what is and what isn't an "adult" when it comes to your character, or any other characters.
Which brings us to the restrictions that are there for the group, because every good group needs restrictions in it.
There will be an age cap on this group; at this moment, we are considering it to be 20 years old and UNDER, though it may be lowered to 18 years old if a lot of people show interest in the group. You do not need a partner to join the group, nor will you be assigned one; we want people to form bonds of trust and friendship naturally, and find partners through that. If you are already in a partnership, then that is also fine! We can show you different activities to make resonance easier. As of right now, the group will also take in people who are in the Watch, as long as they can ICly constitute enough time for their character to do Watch activities and not have any scheduling conflicts with the Watch and SEES. This is one of the most important rules so far; if you can't honestly say your character has the time between the Watch, missions, jobs, and everything else, then I suggest waiting a bit before joining if you want to! Also as of right now, the group will take in people who are already going out on missions; again, this is not a mission based group, but an activities one.
THE PEOPLE IN SEES AND PEOPLE WHO WILL HELP
Right now there are very different roles in place, though as time changes, these roles are up to debate; however, the leader and leader-helpers will not change unless BREW decides to send someone home. Right now the leader is Souji Seta and his partner, Yosuke Hanamura. When SEES splits up into smaller groups for different activities, there will be other people to head up the small groups; this isn't done like zone leaders for the Watch are done. It's not a promotion based group, it's a group that will come together for different activities.
There will be some people outside of the group that will help out from time to time depending on what the activity is! The people would be some from the Watch, if anything is planned with the Watch in mind to help with some things. There will also be some people from Shibusen who might help out by helping with activities or giving classes. Even other guests might help out, depending, once again, on what the activity is!
ACTIVITIES AND PLANS
Now, speaking of activities, this part is a little more fluid, and will greatly profit from IC actions, and OOC posts discussing what the characters would like to do, but so far we have a few ideas:
Scavenger hunts throughout the city -> Place people in groups of two-four and give them a list of things to find; most creative gets points, and the winners get some kind of prize.
Treasure hunts -> Teams are given a map and/or a set of clues, and then they go around to search; whoever gets to the end first wins.
Bracketed Tournaments -> Fighting! Weapons and Meisters fighting together, or Weapons and Weapons, and in the end, whoever comes out on top gets a prize. Prizes will be determined at a later date.
Trust exercises -> These range between teaching someone to fall back into another person’s arms to going out on the training field in the afternoon and trying to get through makeshift rope courses as a group.
Support groups -> Making up baskets to give to new people who arrive in the city with essentials that they might not have on hand; cans of food, toothbrushes/toothpaste, soap, etc.
Arts and Crafts -> Just as it sounds. Making pamphlets, designing fliers and posters, lanyard making for your communicator, ANYTHING GOES IN HERE! :D
As of right now, that's what we have! The way this group is going to flourish and become a part of the city just as much as the other groups here are, is by the people who decide to join also communicate and give suggestions as to things we can do.
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION
Now, I also want to mention real quick that there will be in IC post made by Souji about this to get interest, and I do want to say that there will be a post made on Souji Seta's journal that will be an inbox where people can contact him, and there will be an application for people to fill out. Unlike the application for the Watch, this is more just so that me as a player can know who is in the group at any given time. But I'll let everyone know when it's up, so keep an eye open for Souji's next post!
So if you're interested in this, and you think your character would be interested, just comment here! Or if you prefer, you can contact me to talk to me on a one to one basis: you can catch me on AIM at comraderie30 or by email at aiua.thread@gmail.com. Or you can get me on Plurk at anytime, and I will answer your questions as best as I can!
