ATTENTION SOUL CAMPAIGNERS

Here we go guys

Today's the big day where all your characters have the option of confronting their shadows! So, a little information before all of you get started and this place explodes with logs and the like.

First off - When your shadows first manifest here in the city, they manifest everything your character happens to be wearing and what they have on them. This includes PDA's. This will allow your character's shadow the opportunity to get onto the network and cause some real trouble.

When making a DEMISE post with your character's shadow, be sure to use the 'shadow' tag we will be making ASAP. In addition , when commenting with the shadow, please place 'Shadow' in the first comment of the thread. Please don't comment tag your shadow with yourself, if you wish to have a confrontation, please log it.

On confronting your shadow, please note, that you can do single confrontations and confrontations with more than one person present. However, please keep in mind that your character is the only person capable of defeating their own shadow. Other people present may be capable of subduing it, but it is up to your character to accept the shadow. Once this happens, your shadow will disappear. When looking for a Shadow, remember that Shadows like to seek out places that are significant or important to the character they manifested from. They also like to pinpoint characters they are related to but they are not above accosting anyone within their interests.

Denying your shadow will cause the shadow to warp into a far more monstrous exaggeration. If you wish to have this happen to your character, please contact one of us mods directly and we will discuss the details of what will happen. Please also be prepared for an open log as these Shadows tend to be huge and hard to miss.

And Finally, while this is a way to really express your character's inner most fears, desires, or inhibitions, please stay true to your character and present it in an IC fashion. Anyone seen abusing shadow form for OOC will have the right to play a shadow taken away.

Alright that should just about do it. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know. If you wish to contact us about the monster shadow forms, please hit any of us up on AIM.

Edit: By defeat, we do not mean it in the physical sense. Defeating your Shadow means accepting it, for when Shadows take on their monster-form it is typical for the original person to pass out.

A couple quick questions, just things I want to confirm with the modteam before posting:

1) Does a Shadow of a person believe themselves to be that person?
2) In the absence of the original, does a Shadow claim to be the person they're a shadow of?
3) Do Shadows have any kinds of powers not possessed by the original, aside from being able to turn into giant shadowmonsters and only being defeatable by their original?

All right, that answers all my questions, thank you!

can shadows talk to other shadows/other people in entries? Like make comments?

Question--I know you say do not comment tag your shadow with yourself.

Would it be all right though to have a single reaction comment somewhere in response to a post made on the network? Like a realization that one's shadow has been talking to people as one's self and a rushing off to go find it (which would then happen in a log)?

I think that's okay...? After all, Canada reacted to his shadow in his network post.

Permission to use a secondary account for icons?

Ugh, let me clarify this.

Seeing how others have already done this, I'm going to go ahead and use a secondary account ([Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]) for icons and for replying to comments regarding shadow!Vincent, unless the mods find this impermissible.
