prepare for bolding, captain!
heyyyy everyone, v! here~
so I was moving, and now I'm not. I'm updating my hiatus to a slowatus at worst, because I'm technically stealing internet until maybe maybe sometime next month. I replied to almost all of the tags I still had; if you want to drop the threads or handwave what we needed to do next, please just tell me here! That way, I can keep track. XD
I dig the new font for the posting thing. It makes me feel legit somehow.
In other news, the character I play, Dr. Franken Stein like any of you didn't know that will be opening a little class around the first of the year in-game. This class will focus on Battle Arts, but this does not mean fighting! His focuses will be History of the SE//SC World which naturally will be just called History of the World IC and Phasmology, or the Study of Souls.
tl;dr, he'll be teaching history and things like better Resonating techniques, ways to strengthen a partnership, Group Resonation, etc etc. It'll be a good class to go to if your character
1) has problems resonating, or wants to experience stronger resonation
2) needs tips or tricks on keeping a partnership healthy and strong
3) hungers for knowledge
It is NOT a good class if your character
1) wants to learn the very basics of resonation
2) wants to find a partner
3) wants to learn how to fight.
Those three things are all what Morning Training is for, and you're more than welcome to request Stein's presence for teaching in Morning training as well. This class will be for more advanced students, people with partnerships that have already been established, or academics who want to learn more about the city, the world, and the study of souls.
HOW THIS IS GOING TO WORK:
For a basic layout of how the classes will play out, look here! BUT, there will be some changes, because this is a special class!
--As of right now, I'm not sure how many classes will be taught. I'm hoping for one class per IRL week, but I'm going to first see how the first class goes, gauge the interest and decide the pace from there. Stay tuned for more info!
--If your character signs up for classes:
THIS IS IMPORTANT! Stein's a fair but strict teacher, and he doesn't take kindly to slackers from his own world, let alone Guest slackers. If your character signs up, that means you have a commitment!
-THERE WILL BE IN-GAME CONSEQUENCES FOR SLACKING CHARACTERS.
Nothing serious, but it's just like a real class, except your teacher can read your soul and probably knows where you live.
-If your character doesn't show up for class, they will be tracked down by Stein and pestered mercilessly.
-If they don't do their homework, they will have consequences (on a case-by-case basis, but very likely things like detention or special classes will be assigned, just like in canon), and if it persists, they will be failed and subsequently dropped from the class.
If Stein drops you from his class, it's more than likely he will never take you back.
Make sure you have reason to have your character drop! Of course there might be situations in which he does, but for the most part, it ain't likely. Stein isn't one to take special care when dealing with students unless he has reason to - and you have to earn that reason.
--If you IRL can't attend a class, just talk to me about it! It's likely that we can just handwave some stuff and I can help you with all you need to know, about the class and the homework and everything.
--Homework? Really
Yep! But it's not like I'll expect you to hand in some real essays or something. When I post the class, I'll make a note of what the homework will be for the characters to complete. This can be anything from a literary assignment (research, essays, etc) to a physical assignment (going out and using a special technique, going to get a kishin egg soul, etc).
DON'T LET THIS SCARE YOU! This is just more chance for CR, both with yourself and I and with yourself and your character's peers! I'm more than willing to set things up like class missions, with Stein present while you and your partnerfumble work your way through getting a Kishin Egg, or a certain technique, or whatever!
As of right now, I'm not sure how to mark that you've turned in your assignment; I'll probably focus more on physical assignments more than anything, so just evidence of a log or something would work, or a note in your comment to the next class that your character did actually write that six-page paper.
--edit: THE HOURS OF THE DAY
The classes will be 6 hours long, and they'll be noon to 6, just about. That way, morning training is still open for those involved. If your character needs to take the day off of the class for some reason, as long as they have a legitimate in-game reason, Stein won't have a problem with it - things like emergency work, missions, that sort of thing.
It's very likely I'll be the sort of crazy person who keeps track of it all and could tell you your character's grading after two or three classes, so if you're interested, feel free to ask... XD;;
As of right now, that's all I have... XDDD
The classes will start in the new year in game, but I'll be putting up a post soon with Stein kicking it off with his decision announcement. If you want to pre-emptively sign your character up for the class, just put a comment here! Naturally, I'll allow people to wander in after a few classes or on the day of the first class, but keep in mind the game may lead to eventually closing the class or Stein disallowing new students! Who can say for sure. :P
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
V! OUT
ps: make sure you tell me what characters you want to have sign up, so I can make a list!
