Today is July 24. The same date my first post was ever made.

Therefore, I have been playing Edgeworth here at SC for a year now. Which is the longest I've kept any character at any LJRP game since I got into the wonderful wonderful world of LJRP last March 2010 (I'm...pretty sure it was then ahaha).

LONG MUSHY VERSION (now with pictures! And Austerambles! Which sounds like a sundae!):

So. Once upon a time, I was enabled. I ran through several character options (some I had played before, others I just made journals for but never really played, still others I was willing to try out for the first time) and rolled around on the FAQ and rolled around some more trying to decide who to play. Edgeworth crossed my mind several times because of many reasons...and though I kept grumbling, "NOOOO BUT I ONLY PLAY EDGEWORTH ON MEMES AND D_M AND CRACK THINGS AND DRESSING ROOMS" I finally caved in with all the enabling and of course, just because I wanted to see if I could play him somewhere...more serious. But of course, I still kept whining. "NOOOO I ONLY PLAY HYPER CHARACTERS" and "NOOOO I'LL FAIL SO BAD" etc. 

 

Then I started writing the app. I stayed up on a school night (which is something I never do unless I'm up to my ears in homework) just to hand it in on time, and racked my brains and tried to channel my inner frilly prosecutor.

 

After a lot of waiting and some more rolling around, I was accepted. Even though I kept beating myself up over my application. "NOOOO I MISSED THAT PART OF HIS PERSONALITY." "NOOOO I SHOULD'VE WRITTEN THAT BETTER." "NOOOO THERE WAS A TYPO."

 

But I was definitely set on making him a Meister, after reading through the Weapon/Meister stuff. Which I wasn't familiar with at all until I read it.

 

I wanted to choose death die when I was accepted. DIE HAPPY.

 

 

I struggled with Edgeworth at first - I mean, BIG TIME. He was a complete break from my usual character trend and I was tossing him into a setting that was completely...not his thing. War, supernatural creatures, death gods, Weapons and Meisters...yeah. I played the skepticism card and wondered how long I would have to play it. I stressed over every tag I made, the first post and everything else that came after it...I still do, but it was nothing compared to my first few days here.

 

 

I learned a ton of things during my stay here - about LJRP in general, about Edgeworth, even about myself as an RPer. YEAH I KNOW IT SOUNDS CHEESY BUT IT'S TRUE. I couldn't believe I could finally stop playing the skepticism card and have Edgeworth believe stuff at last (well, he can't pretend forever...can he?) - starting with the fact that he really does have some sort of power. Besides making defense attorneys, witnesses, criminals and pretty much everyone cower under his icy stare and his sparkly LOGIC, of course. With that came a new fear - would I end up being OOC if I made him more involved in the war? (Again, guys, if I'm OOC, just let me know on my personal HMD or when the next HMD comes or...on a private plurk or anything.)

 

As I've mentioned before on Plurk, in my opinion, playing Edgeworth is like walking a thin line. If you lose your balance, you either fall into OOC territory or...overly IC territory. I mean, overly IC to the point of being completely flat and boring and blah. So you need to find the middle ground, and leave enough room for growth. I DUNNO, I RANDOMLY PULL THESE THINGS OUT OF THIN AIR. D-don't ask me for lessons on Edgeworth 101, I'm not an expert. XD

 

I can't believe it's been a year. So much has happened to both Auste and the Frillmeister in that time. And GUYS, I CAN'T QUIT YOU. I CAN'T QUIT SC. LJRP is therapeutic, even though I flip endless tables over Edgeworth. I really do enjoy everything I've done with him, everything I'm doing with him right now, and the plans I keep running through my head. I mean, a lot has happened to him in just one year (over three months by SC time?). He learned how to defend himself, ended up manning the Agency with Near, got washed out into the desert, partnered up with his best friend who kinda became older and became an unwashed hobo, discovered his Meister ability, experimented with said ability, got his first kiss, brooded over a woman, got caught tying his cravat over the network, broke his arm after a mission...the list goes on and on. He has resonated with Phoenix, Franziska, Gray Fullbuster, Lacus Clyne, and Near (okay, Dev and I just completely handwaved that practice resonance).

Mods, thank you for accepting me and bearing with all my questions and all my shenanigans. I really love SC to bits, and I'm definitely gonna stick around. I'll do my best.
