I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT

Greetings, Users whoops, wrong journal for that Death City! As you may have seen in this post about decorating the park, D has something rather special in mind for Death City! My question to you is this:

WOULD YOU LIKE A FESTIVAL???


On the weekend of December 13th, Shibusen City Park will be hosting a winter festival - which is part of why the decorations went/are going up in the first place. I can’t do this alone, however. I want your input! I’ve collected some ideas through brainstorming on Plurk, but I want to know what else you guys would want to see/do. Because it takes me ages to plan anything, I’m going to list what was brainstormed under this cut now, well in advance, and I’d like your thoughts on it. What would work/would not work? What would or wouldn’t be fun for your character? Please, feel free to add things. Either before I leave for or when I get back from Otakon I’ll repost with something more definitive and tangible.

Contests (Which need suggestions for prizes)

• Some kind of entertainment? Would anybody like to perform? -Live band has been suggested!

Honestly, Shaun's just going to brood about it the entire time so I am okay with the hard apple cider and eggnog.

Shaun might get drunk enough to do some kareoke and I'm all for a bonfire, romantic coupley stroll and maybe have a live band or something? :D

Also what about 3 legged races? three different ones, kids, adults and partnered pairs (cause everyone know that partnered pairs have tons of practice working together XP)

SLEIGH RIDES..... Or just carriage rides. I don't know if they can do that DC but it's such a Winter Festival thing. +_+

Carnival games? Like knocking over bottles with balls, climbing the shaky ladder for prizes, that kind of thing...

Ice sculpture contest... just bring blocks of ice and let people do whatever with chisels, or something.

Bobbing for apples?

and.... a public tree decorating/lighting, perhaps? :X

There's these rinks you can like... set up in parks and places that aren't really on lakes, so it's just a sheet of ice? We have them out from November to January, and we get all kinds of weird temperatures in Colorado, so from 60 to -20 and back are pretty safe. They just have machines that keep it frozen, somehow.... It's magic.

Ah! And what about a fireworks show afterwards? None of my characters should be trusted with any kind of explosives, but it seems like there are quite a few characters currently in SC who would be able to set something like that up... :|a

I like that idea, I just wasn't sure what to put down as prizes. My only thought was giving the winner of the pie eating contest the winning pie from the baking contest.
