Pardon the lateness -- Just arrived home from work.

And yes, he's an actual dragon!dragon. He's 4'8" at the shoulder, and if you're seeing him from the front, his head would be at or around 8' in height [long neck, you see]. He is 19 feet long from front to the tip of his tail.

He's a hexapod, where he has two fore and two hind legs, as well as a pair of wings with six spines [each] that flow from his wing's limbs.

He is pure black, save for along the edges of his wings, which have small dark blue and gray oval spots. Sort of like this? This is an artists' rendition of it.

Profile View. None of the colouring over on the ruff along his head. This shows how he is rather long.
