It's that time again!
At the beginning of the month when it's close to the first cycle, this sign-up post will serve as a kind of catch all for that month's application cycle. If you'd like to volunteer as a guide, just come in and comment! The form below will ask for preference, and you're always free to change or update if necessary.
Now onto how the buddy system works!
This is how it works OOCly:
As to how it works ICly:
So in short, it will be basically like most games when characters are randomly dropped in and are like lost sheep looking for help. Except here in Soul Campaign, they are dropped in a specified location. This does mean that there are some restrictions as to who can find them, so here are the requirements:
And remember: Handheld soul scanners are available in Shibusen's foyer; just show the attendant your ID!
All in all, much simpler than the Introduction Tour logs! Volunteers are randomly selected, though if you know someone who is apping and would like to make a preference choice, that is perfectly fine. Just fill out the form below:
Thanks guys! If you have any questions, you are free to ask.

Now onto how the buddy system works!
This is how it works OOCly:
- Pairs. New approved applicants will have the option to choose whether they wish to have a volunteer paired with their character. A volunteer is randomly chosen from the pool and will coordinate their thread with the player entering the game.
- First contact. We will e-mail the information to the volunteer, and either the applicant or volunteer will contact the other first.
- Consolidated log. To keep things simple and organized, a log post will be posted for those to thread in. Each thread is for the pair (and any others who are planned to come in). It will look like this.
As to how it works ICly:
- Blip on the screen. Due to the small amount of people coming in, BREW is not exerting as much power as before thus the monitors are not picking it up as readily. No one will know that there are new people coming in.
- Holy crap what is this room. New arrivals will still land in the Kishin Chamber and will still have to make their way out, which they will be able to do. However there's no one around to help explain anything, so they will be thoroughly confused.
- Stumble into them. Anyone near the area will be the ones to first meet them and (hopefully) be of some help.
So in short, it will be basically like most games when characters are randomly dropped in and are like lost sheep looking for help. Except here in Soul Campaign, they are dropped in a specified location. This does mean that there are some restrictions as to who can find them, so here are the requirements:
- Must be around Shibusen. It is more likely that someone from around Shibusen will stumble onto the new arrivals first, thus only characters who would happen to be at the school for whatever reason will be able to get to them.
- Availability. Players of guides must be available to thread from the 15th of the month until around the 25th to allow ample time for information to be passed from the Guide to the poor confused new meat!
- Somewhat knowledgeable. Characters who at least have a solid understanding of what is going on and can give new arrivals a good start into living in Death City are preferred. So long as they know about the war, meister/weapon system, and how to get to important and/or popular locations, then that should be fine.
And remember: Handheld soul scanners are available in Shibusen's foyer; just show the attendant your ID!
