A murderer is afoot!

That’s right Death City – a mysterious character will be roaming the streets during and after the current event (this announcement is being posted under the guise of the kishin egg account – courtesy of mod approval - so that the secret character remains secret for now!) and killing non-SE NPCs.

What do you, as players of temporary DC citizens and defenders during these times of chaos, need to know?

During March there will be a string of murders which will be written up (and dramatised using journalistic licence of course) in the daily newspaper on selected day changes. The first article will appear on January 30 (in game), followed by another couple victims over the coming days. Feel free to have your character/s notice (remember that in the newspaper industry, ‘If it bleeds, it leads’, so this will be front page stuff!) and attempt an investigation.

Would there be anything unusual about the murders? Lily ended up investigating some unusual deaths in canon since she’s a witch but her real job was as a shopkeeper. If it looked like there might be a supernatural aspect to them, Lily might try to look into it a bit. But if it just seemed like murders carried out by a normal human, she’d probably just leave it to the authorities since she's been trying to keep a low profile.

There will be a number of things over time that would be considered unusual, but not supernatural and there's nothing out of the ordinary discovered with the first couple of bodies!

Well that all depends on what your character is like, but it's possible! I've been discussing this with the mods for a short while so you could bring it up to them?

You can, yes! There isn't anything to find besides what was in the newspaper article, but go for it!

Anythin else we need to know? Like are there police there? If there are, I'm guessing they won't be saying anything... things like that?

The police would have investigated in the morning with taking photos of the scene, taking the body away, cleaning up what they can, etc! Because it's next to the water, Death City wouldn't want the policemen loitering around that area. They would have the area taped off though and the outline of the body would be there, but wouldn't be any guards.

Well, as soon as the murder spree starts up Steve will be hitting the streets, wearing himself out a bit as he spends more and more time on patrol - well outside of his Watch duties. He doesn't want any more deaths if it can be avoided.

I'd prefer if no one was able to figure it out so quickly, but thank you for asking! ICly the murder will happen along the waterway, which I'm told is a major thoroughfare on a normal day in Death City, so there might not be scents at all for Alucard to pinpoint a specific one.
