November Intro Log Volunteer Call!
It's that time again, and this post is going to be a little different from the previous ones so please read!
Before I throw the usual stuff, I have a quick question for those who help volunteer with the intro logs:
Do we still need the coordination post?
I only ask because I've noticed that the last few times it's been put up, there hasn't been much action/need for it. If you guys don't think we need it anymore, please include it when you comment! Anyone else is free to comment as well. Unless everyone thinks we don't need one this round (or future rounds), I'll still put one up before the Intro log goes up.
Now for the usual business!
November Intro Log: We need volunteers!
Every application cycle, we put up an introduction log for the new characters coming into the game. In these logs, members of Shibusen take the new guests around Shibusen and the city, bring them to the Casualty Communal, and inform them of being meister or weapon. This log is important to get the new characters more easily situated in the setting of Soul Campaign.
IMPORTANT! The intro log is going up on the April 7 day change (November 12) and as you can guess, this is going to be on the heels of the current of event. That also means there's going to be a lot of things happening in light of the results of this event. There will be some changes coming which will be discussed in an upcoming mod post closer to the end of the event. So to those who wish to help volunteer, keep a look out for that so that your characters can be ready to relay the information in the log.
Now for the log itself, the threads/sections will be the same as usual:
We need volunteers from the current characters to help us handle the November application cycle.
How will it work? The NPCs will start all the main threads in the logs as usual. When characters reply to the section you are assigned to, you can choose to tag these players and therefore have that thread.
There are specific requirements that we need from the characters and players going to be volunteers. The mods and NPCs will of course be helping you if there are some things that you are uncertain about during the threads.
This set of volunteers will only be for this cycle -- should we need it again next cycle, we will coordinate it beforehand. The deadline for volunteering is November 11th, which gives the mods and NPCs some time to revise the intro log threads to accommodate the volunteers (this doesn't happen that often really).
To volunteer, please comment in this post with the following information:
Note: We will be adding another subthread of sorts, which will be in the Communal and will be open to all characters, volunteers or not. This way, people don't need to volunteer just to be able to welcome their preferred castmates into the game. However, please do volunteer if you can!
Thank you in advance, we truly appreciate it.

Now for the log itself, the threads/sections will be the same as usual:
- Kishin Chamber: Where new characters first appear. This used to be the chamber were Kishin Asura was kept, but is now unused except when the BREW decides to pull people in.
- Around and Outside Shibusen: A short tour of the school premises and facilities, which ends with a view of the city and the desert beyond it.
- Around Death City: A glimpse of Death City as they go from Shibusen to Casualty Communal (through the commercial district). NOTE: This portion may be shortened pending damage done to the city.
- Casualty Communal: Where everyone is told about their new residencies, how to upgrade to other places to live, and to give them an opportunity to find out what they are via Soul Perception.
- Soul Perception: Various people with Soul Perception and Shibusen’s equipment help tell the new characters whether they are meister or weapon. The equipment takes the form of an X-ray that can show what a person’s soul looks like. It functions as a substitute for basic Soul Perception.
We need volunteers from the current characters to help us handle the November application cycle.

- They have to necessarily be supportive of Shibusen or at least believe in promoting the well-being of the guests. Shibusen will ICly be approaching these characters to ask them if they can help, and Shibusen won’t do that if the character is known to actively move against them or is known for making trouble for others in Death City (or hurts their fellow guests). We can always come up with some IC reasons to be a volunteer if your character doesn't have a particularly good rep with Shibusen -- just let us know.
- The characters need to be adequately informative and helpful. The new characters will be asking questions, so the volunteers need to be able to answer a good amount of them with accurate information. Note: Most questions are asked in the "Kishin Chamber" thread, so those with less knowledge but at least have been around can still help out in the other areas.
- The characters need to have a good know-how of how things work in Death City. Things like where to find the clinic, who to contact in case of emergencies, knowing about the Watch, trainings, shopping, and recent (and previous) attacks to the city -- these are some of the things that the characters might have to update their new buddies about.
- Will be free from November 12th to 16th-ish (they are likely to start accepting them on the 10th-14th, so the log will be up around this time), or can at least devote some tagging time for the log. We won’t be asking you to handle ten threads each or something, and we don’t need you to tag at the speed of light, but we would like all threads to be finished in a timely manner. We also need to make sure that all the characters have someone tagging them. It wouldn’t be nice if anyone was left out!
